Thursday 3rd November 2011Bill Richardson: "Sulzer Engines - Bill's experiences"
Bill is a member of the High Wycombe Society
and he was involved with Sulzer Engines which powered
the first generation of British Rail Main Line Diesel Electrics:
Types 25, 33, 44, 45, 47 and some of the prototypes
Launton Handbell Ringers: "Music and History of the Launton Handbells"
A change to our usual December meeting with a
recital of music to get us all in the Christmas mood.
Usual mince pies etc, guests welcome.
Traditional "Bits and Pieces" evening and get together.
Bring those bits to show what you have been working on over Christmas.
Tea/coffee and possibly more mince pies.
Liz Woolley: "Those rampageous, dragonnading fire-devils".
The coming of the railway to Oxford.
This is the latest of many talks by Liz, who lives in Oxford,
and is very interested in Oxford's history.
Steve Harris and Colin Stevens: "Astronomy"
Unfortunately, due to personal reasons, our proposed
speaker
for our meeting on 1st March has had to cancel. In his place we
will be having a talk by Steve Harris and member Colin Stevens
on "Astronomy", both of whom are members of Newbury Astronomical
Society.
If the weather is good and the sky is clear
they will take
some time outside to show us the stars.
